记得几年前,我曾经听一位去云南从事人类学凋查归来的朋友,谈起他在云南所经历过的一件事情:这位朋友遇到的一位村民,自称他知道来自远方的调查者想了解些什么事情,并且十分神秘地表示他有一本书,上面全是调查者最想知道的那些内容。我的朋友大喜过望,便跟他去看,结果,那位村民拿出了一本白皮书,原来是50年代少数民族社会历史大调查后内部印刷的“三套丛书”中的一本。这件小事给我的印象很深,那以后的几年间,我常常能够想起这个故事,并由此产生了许多联想,我为自己提出了许多问题,其中有一些问题,也是我本人在调查中有所觉察和思考的。
