The war let women go away, but this rule is not entirely suitable for China’s war of resistance against Japan. After the outbreak of the 8.31 Shanghai Incident in 1937, the people of the south of the Yangtze River were unprecedented in their enthusiasm for fighting Japan. Students, clerks and citizens in large and medium-sized cities like Shanghai volunteered to participate in the New Fourth Army, many of whom are knowledgeable women of the past. In the midst of the southern Anhui incident that stunned China and other countries, the valiant spirit of sacrifice and righteousness demonstrated by the female soldiers in the New Fourth Army made the world move and made the mountains and rivers pale.
