费凯傅爵士(Sir Christopher Frayling),1946年生于英国,曾就读于剑桥大学丘吉尔学院,获博士学位。随后,在巴斯大学(University of Bath)教授历史。1979年,任英国皇家艺术学院伦敦艺术与设计研究生院(London’s post-graduate art and design school,the Royal College of Art)文化历史学教授。1996年起,接任英国皇家艺术学院院长及副教导主任。费凯傅爵士是英国著名的教育家及作家,主要研究流行文化。同时,他还是一位社会活动家。目前,除院长一职,他兼任英国艺术委员会主席、英国设计委员会主席、皇家制币顾问委员会主席以及维多利亚和阿尔伯特博物馆理事多项职务。20世纪80年代,曾任英国电影协会理事。2001年,因在艺术及设计教育事业的突出贡献,费凯傅被英国女皇授予爵士爵位。近日,费凯傅爵士来到清华大学美术学院,并接受了本刊专访,以下为访谈内容。
Sir Christopher Frayling, born in England in 1946, studied at the Churchill College in Cambridge and received his doctorate. Subsequently, Professor of History at the University of Bath. In 1979, he was Professor of Cultural History at the Royal College of Art, London’s post-graduate art and design school. Since 1996, he has served as the dean and assistant director of the Royal College of Art. Sir Fawcett is a famous English educator and writer who mainly studies popular culture. At the same time, he is still a social activist. He currently serves as chairman of the British Arts Council, chairman of the British Design Council, chairman of the Royal Bank of Mexico Advisory Board, and director of the Victoria and Albert Museum in addition to the post of president. In the 1980s, he was a director of the British Film Institute. In 2001, due to his outstanding contribution to the art and design education career, Faithful was awarded a title of jazz by the Queen of England. Recently, Lord Fawkes came to Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts, and accepted an exclusive interview, the following is the interview.
