The TEFAF2016 Global Artwork Market Report was released on March 11. The report shows that in 2015 the global art market overall sales fell 7%, from 68.2 billion US dollars fell to 63.8 billion US dollars, volume fell 2% to 38.1 million. Despite the overall sluggish market in 2015, sales in the U.S. market rose 4% against the market, with a total sales of 27.3 billion U.S. dollars, setting a new record high and further establishing its position as the dominant global art market.
