近年来,在机印花布生产上,已出現了许多新穎美丽的花色,品种亦不断增多,質量亦不断的提高。但就其艺术質量来說,在紋样的组織、造型、色彩的处理方面或多或少地存在着貧乏、呆板,缺乏民間染織品上所看到的明快、簡練、富有生活气息的圖案風格。去年中国美术家协会在北京举办过湖南民間工艺美术展,展出了許多民間的挑花、蜡染、棉織物、刺绣等实用品和少数民族服装。这些展品在紋样的粗織、造型、色彩上均达到了装飾的艺术效果,引起許多美术家們的重視,一致認为:“把它用机器大量印成花布,該有多好!”。我亦有同感,我想我們近年来生产的机印花布,就是缺少象这类具有民族民間傳統的一枝美丽的花朵。
