渭河流域是黄土高原主要的经济发达地区，也是干旱缺水地区。为扩大南水北调可引水量，建议在中线、西线南水北调之外，增加这条引岷至渭路线。并对有关的问题进行初步探讨。
The Weihe River Basin is the major economically developed area of the Loess Plateau and also arid and dry areas. In order to expand the diversion of water diversion from the South to North Water Diversion Project, it is proposed to increase this route from Minqin to Wei in addition to the mid-route and west-route South-to-North Water Diversion. And a preliminary discussion of the relevant issues.
