百岁老人金善宝,1895年7月生,今年正满百岁。辛亥革命那年他正在家乡诸暨读书,新中国成立时金瞢宝早已成为著名农业科学家、教授。凭着他的学术成就和贡献,凭着他的人品、道德和文章,建国后他被任命为南京大学农学院和南京农学院院长、南京市副市长。1957年3月调任中国农业科学院副院长。如今,金老仍是名誉院长。今年7月的一天,我为庆祝九三学社建社50周年活动事拜访金老——他是九三学社名誉主席,也是目前寓居北京唯一尚健的九三学社创始人。金老爽快地答应了我的要求。之后,我们谈起了不久前召开的全国科技大会,谈起了“科教兴国”战略。
Centenarian Jin Shanbao, born in July 1895, is over a hundred years old this year. He was studying in his hometown of Zhuji during the Revolution of 1911 and was already a famous agricultural scientist and professor when New China was founded. With his academic achievements and contributions, with his character, morality and essay, after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, he was appointed as dean of Nanjing Agricultural College and Nanjing Agricultural College, Nanjing City Vice Mayor. 1957 March transferred to the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences vice president. Today, King is still an honorary president. One day in July this year, I paid a visit to King Lao for celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Jiu San Society. He is the honorary chairman of the Society of Jiusan and the founder of the only Jiu San Society that is currently home to Beijing. King readily agreed to my request. Afterwards, we talked about the National Science and Technology Conference held not long ago and talked about the strategy of “rejuvenating our country through science and education.”
