At present, some construction units and even some testing departments have serious mistakes in mastering and understanding the requirements and standards for lap welding test specimens. Rules 4.4.3 of the “Regulations for the Welding and Acceptance of Reinforcing Steel bars” (JGJ 18-96, hereinafter referred to as the “Regulations”) clearly stipulate that the lap length of the bar for lap welding is the same as the length of the bars, as shown in the following table. During construction, whether it is grade I steel, grade II steel, grade III steel, single-side or double-side welding, the length of overlap (weld) has a long length.
