民族学和文化人类学都曾以“文化圈”来划分世界范围内的文化分布。一般认为,亚洲范围内包含三个重要的文化圈:一是跨越南亚次大陆和东南亚大部分地区的印度文化圈;一是受中国及汉文化影响,覆盖东亚及东南亚部分地区的东亚文化圈;一是横跨亚、非、欧三大洲,包含西亚、中亚、南亚及东南亚部分地区的伊斯兰文化圈。三个文化圈曾以辉煌的成就代表亚洲,占据着世界古老文明的半壁江山。不能轻易逾越的地理障碍,难以一统皈依的信仰差异,令三个文化圈虽因丝绸之路的贯通得以互通有
Ethnology and cultural anthropology have been to “cultural circle” to divide the world’s cultural distribution. It is generally believed that there are three important cultural circles in Asia: one is the Indian cultural circle spanning the South Asian subcontinent and most of Southeast Asia; the other is the East Asian cultural circle that covers East Asia and parts of Southeast Asia under the influence of China and the Han culture; Is an Islamic cultural circle spanning Asia, Africa and Europe on three continents, including West Asia, Central Asia, South Asia and parts of Southeast Asia. The three cultural circles have represented Asia with brilliant achievements and occupy half of the world’s ancient civilizations. Geographical obstacles that can not be easily overcome and differences in beliefs that are hard to unify so that the three cultural circles can communicate with each other through the Silk Road
