童年时期对书本读物的阅读是培养儿童兴趣爱好的开始,而儿童的大脑还没有发育完全成熟,还没有具备对大量的文字进行阅读的能力。而书本中的插图相对于文字而言是最能吸引儿童的注意的。这些插图同时又是对文字的解释说明,对文字进行夸张,深刻的表达,使儿童对文字的内容了解的更加深刻。因此,插画在儿童读物中发挥着重要的作用。什么样的儿童读物才是好的读物?这就要求插画设计者深入了解儿童,探索儿童的内心世界。从儿童的审美、心理和情感方面来进行插图的设计,设计出儿童都喜欢的图画书。
