Nickel sulfide (Ni 3 S 2), nickel chloride (NiCl 2), nickel sulphate (NiSO 4), and nickel oxide (NiO) are four nickel compounds frequently contacted in the nickel refining and electroplating industries and are mostly absorbed through the respiratory tract. Epidemiological and animal experiments show that the four nickel compounds have a toxic effect on the respiratory tract, and the type of respiratory tract damage caused by the degree and the type of compound and dose size. The authors studied the toxic effects of the above nickel compounds on dog and rat lung macrophages in vitro, compared their toxicity and species sensitivity. Experimental hound and F 344 / Crl rats were used to separate lung macrophages by bronchoalveolar lavage. The isolated lung macrophage suspension is centrifuged and the pellet suspended in Tris-ammonium chloride buffer
