湖南永州南津渡大桥是建设部长沙建设机械研究院组建的四维机电技术开发公司(四维公路桥梁建设公司)承建的一座特大型公路桥梁,该桥全长659,8m实用宽度16m是一座中承式钢筋混凝土拱桥,总投资6400万元.该桥工艺复杂难度很大.难度最大的跨度分别为80m、70m,70m的三孔水桥部分由四维公司承建施工.对于一个由机械研究院组建的基本上全部由机械技术人员组成的公司来讲要承建这样一座工艺复杂技术难度很大的大型桥梁其困难是可想而知的.再加之该桥施工环境很差:上游不到1公里是南津渡水电站,每天放水发电和溢洪给工地水下施工带来极大的困难.此外在大桥基础施工中一连遭到六次特大洪水袭击,又给工地带来一次又一次的灾难.
