The authors determined the basal level of plasma LH and FSH concentrations in 37 gonadal dysgenesis syndromes or other primary hypogonadal conditions aged 6 months to 19 years and the changes induced by LRF. All patients were naïve and did not receive any sex steroid treatment and were divided into four groups by age. Baseline gonadotropin values and their responses to LRF were compared with those of normal children of the same age.
