《义务教育英语课程标准》对初中生的要求是:了解英语词汇,包括单词、短语、习惯用语和固定搭配等形式;理解和领悟词语的基本含义以及在特定语境中的意义;运用词汇描述事物、行为和特征,说明概念等;学会使用1 500~1 600个单词和200~300个习惯用语或固定搭配。英语教学的基础和重点就是词汇教学,没有词汇语言大厦就无法建构,学生只有掌握和熟悉了大量的词汇,英语水平才有可能逐渐提高。初中阶段,教师如何教,学生怎样学,学生才能掌握单词,扩大词汇量呢?笔者就此问题根据自己的教学实践作以下简单探讨。一、教师要采用有效的教学方法扩大学生词汇量
