城固县位于陕南汉中盆地中部,北依秦岭,南踞巴山,属长江流域汉江水系,汉江干流横贯东西。全县有林地面积229万亩,占全县土地总面积的74％,林木蓄积760万m~3,年生长量30.2万m~3,是我省林业县之一。自1998年该县发生特大洪涝灾害后,县委、县政府高度重视生态环境保护工作,决定把实施天然林保护工程,大力发展生态林业,尽快恢复林草植被,防止水土流失作为生态环境建设的重点来抓。特别是今年省政府作出禁止天然林商品性采伐决定以来,该县积极贯彻省政府宁陕会议精神,及时制订了一系列相应的配套措施,有力地推动了天保工程的实施。
Chenggu County is located in the central part of the Hanzhong Basin in southern Shaanxi Province.
