Objective: To explore the correlation between the fitting characteristics of hearing aids and the level of social and economic development of deaf children in different economic development levels in Guangdong Province. Methods: The deaf children who wear hearing aids for the first time in families of permanent residents in Guangdong were divided into the economically developed Pearl River Delta regions (including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, and Zhongshan) and other relatively underdeveloped areas of Guangdong. The age and sex ratio, degree of deafness and types of hearing aids (digital / analogue) of the first hearing aid were compared with each other respectively. Results: ① The average age of deaf children wearing hearing aids for the first time in Guangdong was 3.82 years old, the ratio of male to female was 1.47:1. There was no significant difference between regions; ② The residual hearing hearing brains of the Pearl River Delta The percentage of deaf children whose Ⅴ wave threshold exceeds 90dBnHL is 86.36%, while the rest of Guangdong is 93.85%, which is far higher than that in the Pearl River Delta. ③Deaf children who choose hearing aids for the first time wearing the hearing aid in the Pearl River Delta region are 75.57% , Other areas of Guangdong 65.38%. Conclusion: The fitting characteristics of deaf children’s hearing aids are closely related to the local socio-economic development level. There is a huge difference in the proportion of male and female deaf children wearing hearing aids in Guangdong, which needs to be further explored.
