The 68th meeting of the IABSE held at Tsinghua University from May 12th to 14th this year featured the theme “Expert System in Civil Engineering”. This is the first IABSE conference held in China. It indicates that the academic level of civil engineering in China has reached the international level. The conference was funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and jointly undertaken by the China Civil Engineering Society and Tsinghua University.
