多元文化既包括合理文化,又包括有害文化,但主要是指合理的文化。多元合理文化产生的原因有两个方面:利益多元与理性发展。对待多元文化有三种方式:一元独霸、完全放任及政治观念与完备性学说的二分方式。前两种处理方式或者行不通,或者负面作用太大,最后一种方式是较为恰当的选择,在这方面,应谨慎对待罗尔斯的政治哲学观点,应从中国的国情出发。
Multiculturalism includes both reasonable and harmful cultures, but primarily refers to a reasonable culture. There are two reasons for the diversification of rational culture: the diversity of interests and the rational development. There are three ways to deal with multiculturalism: monopoly domination, total devolution, and dichotomy of political ideas and completeness doctrines. The first two approaches do not work, or the negative effect is too great. The last one is a more appropriate choice. In this regard, Rawls’s political philosophy should be treated with caution and China’s national conditions should be treated with caution.
