沈葆桢对祖国有四大贡献:一是创办船政(被誉为“爱国、清廉、务实的洋务派”),二是创建海军(被誉为“中国海军之父”),另外两件则是保卫台湾、开发台湾。中国历史上保卫台湾的第一位功臣是郑成功,第二位功臣当属沈葆桢。探讨和宣传沈葆桢保卫台湾、开发台湾的历史功绩,具有重要的现实意义。
Shen Baozhen has four major contributions to the motherland: one is the establishment of the shipping administration (known as “Patriotic, Clean and Pragmatic Western Affairs”), the other is the creation of the Navy (known as the “Father of the Chinese Navy”) and the other two are Defend Taiwan, develop Taiwan. The first hero in defending Taiwan in Chinese history was Zheng Chenggong, whose second hero was Shen Baozhen. It is of great realistic significance to discuss and publicize Shen Baozhen ’s defense of Taiwan and the historical achievements of Taiwan.
