The publication of this book coincides with the International Conference on Variable Charged Soils held in New Zealand in 1981. The book has a comprehensive coverage of the literature on this type of soil. Soil with variable charge is widely distributed in temperate and tropical regions. Although not fertile soil, but in many places, its production capacity is not low. They belong to five soil classes, namely; leached soil, newly formed soil, oxide soil, lime soil and old soil.
