20世纪20年代,上海教育界、文化界人士有感于西方国家利用木偶戏开展幼儿教育的积极意义,尝试创编适合儿童观看的木偶戏,以服务儿童,辅助儿童教育。虞哲光、李振支等人先后创立了上海业余木偶剧社、上海木偶剧社和中国木偶剧团。这些木偶戏班社虽然存在时间不长,演出多是业余形式,表演技巧也较稚嫩,但是其主要服务对象是儿童,为后来木偶戏服务于儿童做了探索,积累了经验。
In the 1920s, Shanghai education and cultural circles felt the positive significance of using puppet shows in western countries to develop early childhood education. They tried to create a puppet show suitable for children to serve children and help children’s education. Yu Zheguang, Li Zhendi and others have successively founded the Shanghai Amateur Puppet Theater, Shanghai Puppet Theater and the Chinese Puppet Theater. Although these puppet troupes did not exist for a long time, they performed mostly in the form of amateurs and performed more skillfully. However, their main service targets were children, and later puppets served children for exploration and gained experience.
