抗软化番茄是利用转基因技术抑制果实内乙烯的生成,从而延缓番茄的成熟。它不仅在植株上不会变红软化,采摘后在常温下自然储放两三个月也不会变红。在需要果实成熟时,只需浸沾乙烯,7-10天后即可变红变软。它除了可以作为反季节蔬菜供应外,还适用于一般交通工具的远距离运输、部队的后勤供给,并满足远洋及恶劣自然条件区作业人员对鲜食番茄的需求。此种番茄的种植与普通番茄一样。
Anti-softening tomato is the use of transgenic technology to inhibit the formation of ethylene in the fruit, thereby delaying tomato maturation.
