南康栽培柿树有悠久的历史,广大果农对柿树栽培积累了丰富的经验。柿树环剥保果是当地果农在实践中总结出的一项增产措施。南康县三江乡肖边村柑桔专业户梁凯家有5株15年生的柿树,1984年以前,落花落果严重,座果率低。1985年他将柑桔环割保果的原理应用于柿树上,1985～1987年取得了连续三年产量翻番的显著效果,由原来株产80多公斤上升到200～300公斤。根据他的体会,柿树环剥保果主要应掌握以下四个环节:
