微机在90年代在我国有了突飞猛进的发展,微机的拥有者也如雨后春笋般日益增加。在首先使用微机的用户中,有些就是英语教师。对于大多数英语教师来说,使用微机的目的是进行文字处理。当我们能用WPS,WP,Word等系统进行文字处理,尤其是当我们使用office97系统,即可以编辑英文又可以编辑汉字,即可以自动进行英文的拼写校对,又可以进行幻灯片制作时,我们感到由衷的高兴。然而我们应该说,文字处理仅是微机应用的一部分。而另一重要的应用是利用微机进行互联网。
