中国人民政治协商会议第七届全国委员会副主席、著名爱国民主人士和政治活动家缪云台先生,因病医治无效,于1988年9月3日在北京逝世,享年94岁。缪云台先生,名嘉铭,云南昆明人,1894年出生。他1913年留学美国,先后就读于康萨斯州西南大学、伊利诺大学,1919年毕业于明尼苏达大学矿冶系,1920年回国后,历任云南锡务公司总经理、云南省政府高级顾问、省政府委员、农矿厅厅长,劝业银行经理、富滇新银行行长、云南省经济委员会主任委员、国民参政会参政员。抗日战争胜利后,他出席了在重庆召开的政治协商会议,随后,出任国民政府行政
Mr. Miao Yuntai, Vice Chairman of the Seventh National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and a famous patriotic democrat and political activist, died in Beijing on September 3, 1988, at the age of 94, after invalid medical treatment. Mr. Miao Yuntai, Jiaming, Kunming, Yunnan, was born in 1894. He studied in the United States in 1913 and studied at Southwestern University and University of Illinois at Consensia. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1919. After returning to China in 1920, he served successively as General Manager of Yunnan Tin Company, Senior Consultant of Yunnan Provincial Government, Government members, director of the Office of Agriculture and mineral resources, manager of the Bank of China, president of Yunnan Dianxin Bank, chairman of Yunnan Provincial Economic Commission, member of the National Political Council. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he attended the political consultative conference held in Chongqing, and later served as the KMT administration
