本刊出版之际,适逢三八国际妇女节;往后再过10天——2004年3月18日,也是“侵华日军细菌战中国受害民间诉讼索赔案”二审四次开庭的日子。本文主角——侵华日军细菌战中国受害诉讼原告团团长兼总代表王选将再次来到日本东京高等法院,为60年前惨死于日军撤放的鼠疫、霍乱、伤寒、炭疽等杀人毒菌的无数中国百姓讨回公道。从1995年起,王选频繁往返日本、美国和中国各地,自费投入侵华日军细菌战的调查取证工作;她于1997年组织浙江、湖南的细菌战受害者成立侵华日军细菌战中国受害诉讼原告团,并被推举为团长,代表中国受害者及家属向日本政府提出索赔诉讼。如今,她已为细菌战调查和诉讼耗去九年光阴和百万巨款。王选的事业正如已故美国著名历史学家、《死亡工厂》的作者谢尔顿·哈里斯教授所说:“她是一名真正爱国的中国人,她将自己的全部生命为日本占领中国期间的暴行受害者的正义事业而战斗。她是正义的嘹亮的号角……我的妻子和我对她的才智,她的人道主义精神以及她为全体中国人民做出的献身,表示极大的赞赏和尊敬”而在国内,人们常用“巾帼英雄”、“热血女子”、“铿锵玫瑰”等称号表达对她的敬爱
