Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) was first reported by Cherry and Margulies [1] in cases of acid reflux and posterior laryngeal granuloma. Before the disease was not officially named, there have been reflux laryngitis, stomach reflux, pharyngeal esophageal reflux and esophageal reflux and other references. LPR is known to be associated with certain respiratory diseases such as asthma. When asthma patients cough, acid reflux, belching, chest soreness and other accompanying symptoms should be considered LPR. Asthma and LPR have some relevance, but the causal relationship between the two has not been fully elucidated.
