科技写作是人们叙述人类认识自然成果的一种重要手段,它包括自然科学和技术科学这两方面的写作,既从属于写作学的范畴,又从属于科学技术的范畴.科技写作对于提高社会生产力水平具有直接作用,它是传播和记载科学技术的重要形式,也是衡量科技人员科技水平的重要尺度.由于科学技术本身的制约,科技写作不论形式和内容,其基本写作准则,均不同于新闻写作或文艺创作.近二十年来,世界各发达国家陆续开设科技写作课程,我国也已有十几所院校对理工科学生开设这门课程,它正在成为我国理工科院校教育改革,特别是更新科技人才知识结构的一项重要内容.
