The General Staff Communication Engineering Design and Research Institute is the only Class A survey and design unit for communications engineering in the PLA. It undertakes the feasibility study on the construction of national defense and communications projects, the overall plan and demonstration of communications engineering construction in the whole army, the communications trunk (channel) and large and medium-sized communications Hub project survey and design, communications engineering standardization research, communications engineering design and technical backbone of business training and other major tasks. Since its founding in 1965, the General Staff Communication Engineering Design and Research Institute has become an industry-wide scientific research institute with reasonable configurations, complete categories, advanced equipment, and integrated communications, electronics, automation and construction after nearly 40 years of construction and development.
