In the 1983 edition of “China Encyclopedia of Traditional Chinese Opera,” the entry entitled “Research Institute of Chinese Opera” authored by Mr. Ma Yuan summarized the achievements of the Chinese Academy of Opera in the past 30 years. ① It can be seen that the work of the Academy of Chinese Traditional Opera has the characteristics of linking theory with practice, paying close attention to the drama stage and serving drama creation.
