It is the media’s responsibility to expose the international community to the dangers posed to humankind by a radioactive weapon and to arouse the public’s vigilance against it and its condemnation of users and the pressure of public opinion to ban the use of such weapons. However, the Chinese media all over the world have basically played the role of “megaphone” in their reports on the issue of depleted uranium. The news of independent interviews is extremely rare, mostly followed by the foreign media, especially the media in Europe and the United States. Depleted uranium bullets reported ebb and flow. Roughly analyzing the Chinese media’s coverage of the “depleted uranium bomb,” one must not fail to come to an impression that the Chinese media do not care about it when the Western media are indifferent to the depleted uranium. When the Western mainstream media is stirring up the sluggish bomb, we will follow the trend. As the attention of the Western media turned elsewhere, the depleted uranium bomb gradually disappeared in the Chinese media. Here, the initiative to seize the news coverage is basically the Western media, the Chinese media is basically passive “drift.” Find out why the original news is limited in order to change the situation.
