袁振英是中国共产党上海早期组织的成员,也是中国社会主义青年团八个创始人之一。在中国共产党创建时期,袁振英曾任《新青年》“俄罗斯研究”专栏主编、《共产党》月刊撰述员、俄文生活报英文翻译、外国语学校教员等,凭借出色的外文优势,他翻译了大量介绍马克思列宁主义以及俄国十月革命方面的文章,为马克思主义在中国的广泛传播和中国共产党的创立作出了重要的贡献。袁振英也因此自认为是“共产主义的马前卒”。然而,在中国共产党刚刚成立后,袁振英却悄然离开了党的队伍。
Yuan Zhenying is a member of the early Chinese Communist Party organization in Shanghai and one of the eight founders of the Chinese Socialist Youth League.
