石嘴山市郊区上营子大队,地势平坦低洼,坡度为三千分之一,南高北低。灌水期地下水平均埋深0.5米左右。土壤盐碱重,井排前耕作土壤含盐量0.2％左右,生荒地0.8～1.59％。春灌后地下水位最高期与强烈蒸发期5、6、7三个月一致,冬灌后的水位最高期与冬春季大风一致,因而促使潜水蒸发,大量盐份累积地表,导致土壤盐渍化。地表为淤积粘壤土,20～40米间为黑色
