本文叙述了一种较独特的农林业经营方法,即在小面积橡胶人工林内综合饲养动物(羊、家禽和蜜蜂)。这种方法基于剩余家庭劳力,利用橡胶树行间的空间,来为动物生长提供廉价有营养的饲料和适宜的林内小气候环境。文章提供了马来西亚橡胶研究所70年代以来的试验结果。在橡胶林下饲养鸡,从技术、经济和社会效益方面来看是可行的。每生产500只鸡可使家庭劳动力净收入370~825马来西亚元(M$)。橡胶林内养羊也是很有实效和可行的。单不但可以提供肉食而且能起到“生物控制杂草”的作用,其控制杂草的费用要比常规除草法节省21%,养羊的中间收益可高达44%。文章亦给出了在橡胶林下养羊的经营管理技术。在橡胶林中间种作物和杂草开花季节养蜂也很有经济价值。东方蜜蜂(Apis cerana)较适宜在橡胶林内放养,每群蜜峰1次可产蜜3kg。
This article describes a more unique approach to agroforestry that feeds animals (sheep, poultry and bees) together in small-scale rubber plantations. This method builds on the labor remaining in the family and uses spaces between rows of rubber trees to provide cheap and nutritious feed for animal growth and a suitable microclimate in the forest. The article provides the results of the tests conducted by the Malaysian Rubber Institute since the 1970s. Feeding chickens under rubber forests is feasible in terms of technical, economic and social benefits. For every 500 chickens produced, the net domestic laborer income is 370 to 825 Malaysian dollars (M $). Rubber sheep forest is also very effective and feasible. Mono not only provides meat but also serves as a “biological control weed,” which costs 21% less on weed control and 44% on sheep. The article also gives the management of sheep in the rubber plantation management techniques. It is also economically valuable to plant crops and weeds in the middle of a rubber plant during the flowering season. Oriental honey bee (Apis cerana) is more suitable for stocking in the rubber plantation. Each group of honey bee peak 1 can produce honey 3kg.
