目前全世界约有森林43.21亿公顷,约占陆地总面积的32.3%。其中南美洲约9.15亿公顷;北美洲约为8.07亿公顷;非洲约7.44亿公顷;亚洲4.68亿公顷;大洋洲2.99亿公顷;欧洲1.59亿公顷;苏联9.29亿公顷,其数量超过任何一大洲。各国林业发展水平不平衡,全球现有39个国家的森林覆盖率不足10%。其中非洲10个,亚洲16个;埃及、利比亚、约旦、科威特等13国的覆盖率还不到1%。覆盖率最高的是法属圭亚那为98.6%,
At present, there are approximately 4.31 billion hectares of forest in the world, accounting for 32.3% of the total land area. Of which about 915 million hectares are in South America, 807 million hectares in North America, 744 million hectares in Africa, 468 million hectares in Asia, 299 million hectares in Oceania, 159 million hectares in Europe and 929 million hectares in the Soviet Union, more than any other continent. The levels of forestry in various countries are not balanced. The forest cover of 39 countries in the world is less than 10%. Including 10 in Africa and 16 in Asia.
