INTRODUCTION In April 1977, the validity of the subsonic normal force coefficient was questioned in the simulation of a naval “D” concept airborne interceptor missile (AIMVAL) (in this report this refers to TVC6 missile). Due to the error of the aerodynamic coefficient, a suggestion of recalculating the normal force and pitch moment coefficient of the TVC6 is proposed. These coefficients were recalculated in fiscal year 1977. The simulation models now being used by both NWC and Hughes Aircraft Inc have included new values for these aerodynamic coefficients in the general near-air-to-air missiles (SRAAM) projectile calculations. This report summarizes the method for estimating the normal force and pitch moment coefficients of TVC6.
