在竖井和开拓大巷掘进施工中,常用吊桶提升废石。采用自动翻碴装置可以变人工挂钩翻碴为自动卸碴。当满载废石的吊桶提升到翻碴台上方时,关闭翻碴门,托架受杠杆作用而平伸,托住滑架,吊桶徐徐下降,吊桶上的轴套落入支架的凹口内,吊桶因重力偏心而向前倾倒,桶内废石倒进溜槽内。吊桶提起,滑架复位,启开翻碴门,托架上升,完成了自动卸碴、吊桶复位的一个循环(附图)。
