毕沅(1730—1797年)、毕泷(1733—1797年)是清乾隆时期江苏太仓地区负有盛名的人物。毕沅历官陕西巡抚、河南巡抚、湖广总督等职,宏扬经史兼好艺术;毕泷长年居于太仓、苏州一带,搜罗书画金石。昆仲两人都精于赏鉴,喜好购藏宋元明清书画。嘉庆二年(1797年)毕泷、毕沅先后而卒,两年后毕沅被抄家籍没,遭逢巨变后家道凋零,藏品散佚。
Bi Yuan (1730-1797) and Bi Long (1733-1797) were the prestigious figures in the Taicang area of Jiangsu during the Qing Emperor Qianlong’s time. Bi Yuan Li Shaanxi governor, governor of Henan, governor of Huguang and other post, to promote the history of art and good; Bi Long for many years living in Taicang, Suzhou area, collecting painting and calligraphy stone. Kunzhong both are skilled in appreciation, like buying and selling the Song and Yuan Ming and Qing paintings. Jiaqing two years (1797) Bilu, Bi Yuan has died, two years later, Bi Yuan was copied family members did not, after the great change of family dying, collection of lost.
