最近读书,读到一篇关于英国威斯敏斯特大教堂里一块墓碑的故事。故事中说,该墓碑上的碑文介绍了一个人胸怀大志、抱负宏伟,年轻时曾经想改变这个世界。可当他逐渐成熟以后,发现自己并不能够改变这个世界,于是他又将目光缩短了些,决定只改变他的国家。当他进入老年以后,发现也改变不了国家,最后只能把愿望再一次缩小,计划想改变一下自己的家庭。但是,这样的愿望最终也没能实现。行将就木时,他才突然意识到:如果一开始我仅仅去改变自己,可能还有所作为。
Recently studied and read a story about a tombstone in the Westminster Abbey in England. In the story, the inscription on the tombstone introduces a person with great ambition and great ambition. When young, he wanted to change the world. But as he matured, he found himself unable to change the world, so he shortened his gaze and decided to change only his country. When he entered old age, he found that he could not change the country. In the end, he could only narrow his wish once more and planned to change his own family.
