赤水河古称赤虺河,全长523公里,流经滇、黔、川三省,在四川合江汇入长江。赤水河上中游分界为二郎镇,二郎镇古称二郎滩,因赤水河对面的二郎神庙而得名。赤水河是中国著名的美酒河,有“不出百里必有好酒”之说,流域名酒有茅台、董酒、习酒、潭酒、怀酒等数十种,二郎镇所出产郎酒,有百年历史,是著名的酱香型白酒。
