During the Anti-Japanese War, the poetry circles in the border area of Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia were unusually active. Here is the cultural center of the anti-Japanese democratic base under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. There are many talented people and associations, and there are many poetry and periodicals. Public published and published pure poetry publications, there are “new poetry”, “mountain poetry”, “poetry construction”, “street poetry”, “Poetry” and other. After the war of resistance entered a stalemate and stalemate phase, the confluence of Japan and the Puppet Party went all out to encircle the liberated areas and the Kuomintang implemented the economic blockade policy on the border areas. In addition to the natural disasters in many areas, the material conditions were extremely difficult. Therefore, most of these publications are oil-based and have limited distribution scope. Coupled with the frequent war in the environment at the time, there were more separations and discards. These publications, now completely preserved, there are very few books. The research on the poetry movement in the liberated areas brought with it many difficulties. In the early 1960s, I had consulted many books in many places, wrote many of my party’s interlocutors and visited some old comrades of that year, but with little success. Even if I inquire about a volume occasionally, I do not know exactly which Comrade’s hand it is. On June 19, 1964, Comrade Xiao San, the old poet, gave me great sympathy and support for my investigation and research work. At that time, though he was still ill, he still wrote a warm letter telling me: I only know a few things about post-1939 about Yan’an’s poetry organization and activities. But I need to recall, collate, and for my current illness, it is too laborious.
