谚语是广大劳动人民群众通过长期的社会生活实践对各种社会现象及生活经验进行的概括和总结,凝聚了无数代人的智慧。世界上的任何一种语言都有自己独特的谚语,凡历史悠久的语言都包含有大量的谚语。这些经过漫长历史积累和长时间使用而提炼出来的谚语,是该语言中的精华。西班牙文的世界名著《堂吉诃德》一书中大量的西班牙语谚语,寓意深刻、言简意赅,而且风趣幽默、成为该书的一大特色。论述《堂吉诃德》一书中大量采用谚语这一语言形式的必然性。
