对于很多人来说,拼杀在托福和GRE战场上的经历是一种挥之不去的难忘记忆:背烂“红宝书”(新东方学校编的单词书)、抢坏座位、苦泳题海,是“考托考G”族脑海中难以抚平的深深烙印。这似乎是90年代中国人出国热的一个写照。就在托福和GRE考试日陷八股化泥潭之时,“雅思”浮出水面。作个不太恰当的比喻,托福和GRE有点像应试教育下的考试,而雅思则是素质教育测试。雅思在中国推广已有10年了,却一直不为人所知,而今年以来雅思的突然火爆则向我们展示:中国人的出国热正在走向理性、中国人的留学选择正在走向多元、中国人的英语学习正在走向实用、中国的开放正在走向更宽广的天地……
