In the process of senior high school English teaching, it is an important task to train and improve students’ core literacy effectively. It is the core requirement of high school English teaching in the context of new curriculum. The core qualities of students include learning ability, independent thinking ability, teamwork ability, ability to communicate with others, problem solving ability, ability to get out of difficulties, and intercultural communication skills. Its connotation is very rich, the requirements for English teaching is also very high. For high school English reading teaching, teachers can rely on reading teaching, based on a chapter of vivid discourse, and strive to cultivate and improve students’ core English literacy.
