武进县湖塘镇,是省、市首批对外开放的重点乡镇之一,地处常州南门外,全镇总面积30平方公里,总人口60219人,其中非农业人口22889人,辖28个行政村。该镇认真贯彻执行落实中央关于沿海地区发展外向型经济的战略,充分发挥本地优势,积极开拓国际市场,取得了一定的成绩,并带动和促进了整个经济的发展。1990年,该镇成为全国100个明星乡镇之一。在发展外向型经济中,该镇从发展经济的指导思想、充分发挥优势等方面下功夫,他们的一些做法对乡镇发展外向型经济有借鉴意义。
Hutang, Wujin County, is one of the first batch of key townships open to the outside world in the province and city. Located in the south of Changzhou, the town covers a total area of 30 square kilometers with a total population of 60,219 people, including 22,889 non-agricultural population and 28 Administrative village. The town conscientiously implemented the Central Government’s strategy of developing the export-oriented economy in the coastal areas, gave full play to its local advantages, actively explored the international market, achieved certain achievements and drove and promoted the development of the entire economy. In 1990, the town became one of the 100 star towns in the country.
