我国是世界上百岁老人最多的国家之一。据第四次人口普查资料,1990年全国共有百岁老人6681人,即每一百万人口中,就有近6个百岁老人。在百岁老人中,女性为5126人、占76.7%,男性为1555人、占23.3%,女性百岁老人远高于男性。分民族看,按总人口计算的少数民族百岁老人多于汉族。1990年各少数民族的百岁老人共有1666人、每百万少数民族中有百岁老人18.24人,汉族的百岁老人共有5015人、每百万汉族人口有百岁老人4.83人。少数民族中每百万人拥有的百岁老人数是
