去年七月,在美丽的滨海城市青岛召开的第八届人民代表大会第二次会议上,一位身着蓝褂,面容端庄的四十九岁的女科学家、归国华侨郑守仪当选为青岛市副市长。郑守仪是一九五六年从菲律宾回国的。她回国后,一直在中国科学院海洋研究所从事有孔虫的研究工作。二十多年来,她在研究工作上取得了很大成绩,被提升为副研究员。她曾出席过山东省科学大会,并被选为山东省侨联副主席,去年,又荣获「全国劳动模范」的光荣称号。把青春献给祖国郑守仪出生在菲律宾一个普通侨家庭里,兄妹六人,一家八口靠父亲在马尼拉一家商店里当店员维持生活。就在她中学毕业、进入菲律宾商科学校学习的那一年,新中国诞生了。从此她更加渴望着自己能早日回到祖国的怀抱。一九五四年,她在菲律宾东方大学毕了
