Honorable Dr. Zhao Tarim, Dear Dr. Thomas Christensen, Ladies and Gentlemen, Allow me to give a short speech to congratulate today’s event. The first sentence: I remember a small time, the teacher told me in the same plane, the two never intersect the line called “parallel lines ”. But when I grew up, a miracle appeared. It was thought that the two parallel lines that developed independently of each other in a thousand and one thousand mountains and rivers - the ancient oriental advocating nature and the young western advocating science - came unexpectedly in the early 20th century. As a result, a hundred years later, we have ushered in the Chinese version of “The History of the Development of Western Music Theory in Cambridge” marking a new stage in the exchange of Chinese and Western music.
