1917年10月,吉隆坡“中国学校”(校名),向我国教育部寄来呈文。声称该校主办的“中国全国教育成绩展览会”,将于1918年2月25—27日开展。请求教育部支持,令行全国各学校,征集优秀“成绩品”(泛指各校师生制作的工艺品和美术创作等),运交吉隆坡参加展出。 中国学校是所什么性质的学校?教育部一无所知。海外学校举办全国教育成绩展览,事情非常突兀。教育部为慎重计,当即致电新加坡总领事馆,调查这家学校和展览会的情况。
October 1917, Kuala Lumpur, “Chinese School” (school name), sent a letter to our Ministry of Education. It is claimed that the “China National Education Achievements Exhibition” hosted by the school will be conducted from February 25 to February 1918. Request the Ministry of Education to support and order all schools in the country to solicit outstanding “grade products” (referring to handicrafts and fine arts created by teachers and students in schools) for delivery to Kuala Lumpur for exhibition. What kind of school are Chinese schools? The Ministry of Education knows nothing about it. Overseas schools hold the National Education Achievements Exhibition, things are very unexpected. The Ministry of Education is a cautious measure and immediately calls the Consulate General of Singapore to investigate the situation of this school and exhibition.
