我校在推广纵横输入法过程中,主要针对的是社区居民和转岗农民,在这两大群体中:社区居民主要是退休的中老年人,他们大多没有接触过计算机,对学习计算机有强烈欲望,可又担心自己不会英文、不认识键盘,怕学不会。而接受农民转岗培训的大多是中青年人,他们从田间地头走来,要了解外面的世界和掌握新的技能,也要接受计算机培训。而纵横输入法恰恰适合这两个群体,因为它是一种运用0～9十个数字,采用单手操作的快捷汉字输入法。其特点是简单易学、简繁通用、词组丰富、功能强大,特别适用于初学者、不熟悉汉语拼音者的学习。
